The founder, Roy Rump, was one of the first twenty-five employees of Canadian Petrofina Ltd. At that time, he turned a lot of heads in the Ottawa valley delivering ballast and storage gas with the new International tractor and 6000 gallon tank trailer painted Fina blue and white.

In 1954, he was transferred to North Bay as a bulk plant superintendent as a large promotion. July of 1956 saw Roy selected to become the Lessee Dealer of Canadian Petrofina service station at Main Street and Springhurst in Ottawa.

Seven years later (July of 1963) he was appointed over-all manager of a Fina pilot service station (Mahoney and Rich) which was a three bay service with four pump islands, nine car garage, and a large retail store for auto accessories, auto parts, televisions, radios, bicycles, etc. At the back of the building was a warehouse of Fina auto parts, tires, batteries, and accessories. This location wholesaled and delivered to Fina stations in the Ottawa Valley and Gatineau. Roy ran this location with twelve employees.

In October of 1966, Roy was offered an Esso franchise to lease by the Atlas district manger, Jack Denis, of Imperial Oil Ltd. Roy would never forget the happy memories and Fina friends who helped him along the way.

The next thirty-one years with Imperial (Esso) was a great learning experience second to none, with a company he considered to be the Cadillac of the petroleum industry. In June of 1996, Imperial met with them to explain that the two bay service stations were no longer in their plans and would sell them their property. Roy et al agreed to the generous offer and all necessary transactions were finalized July 25, 1996 at 4:00 pm.

August 2, 1996 found the company building an ultra modern R2000 building. Five bays, ten stalls with eight hoists. Up and running on January 2, 1997, they no longer had gas pumps to worry about. Monday morning found Mr. Jones (a long time customer) knocking on the door wanting to get maintenance and repairs on his automobile having waited seven months for them to reopen!
